John Flamsteed: Perseus & Andromeda - F 01
This wonderful celestial image was created by John Flamsteed who in 1675 was appointed Astronomer Royal of the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, England. Soon thereafter he began to collect data for a new star catalogue, the Historia Coelestis Britannica, compiled entirely from telescopic observations of nearly 3,000 stars visible from Greenwich. Published posthumously, the atlas was a great success going through numerous later editions. The 5x7 card is blank inside and comes with an accompanying envelope – shipping is free.
